On top of this, aggro management was a thing back before Shadowbringers. Blunt debuff was irrelevant since only Monk does blunt damage, and it had the blunt debuff. You also needed at least one job which brought the slashing debuff (Warrior, Ninja or Samurai) because Paladin and Dark Knight did not have it, and since there were only 3 tanks back then, your comp would always have at least one of those two jobs. So if you wanted to bring a BRD or MCH, you automatically also had to bring a Dragoon because it was 5% of their damage (10% in Heavensward and ARR).
